Precast concrete in road infrastructure

Sadr Stone's project archive records the use of its exposed-concrete facing tiles at the Alborz Tunnel on the Tehran–North freeway. The documented application includes the entrances and exits and curved interior wall areas. The project gallery on this website provides the associated images without relying on an external archive.

The tiles form an architectural facing. Replacing a cast-in-place finish with prefabricated facing units does not mean replacing the tunnel's structural lining. The structural and fire-safety design remains a separate responsibility.

Curved walls require coordinated setting out, panel dimensions, joints and fixings. Transport, access, installation sequencing and the ability to replace damaged units also matter in infrastructure work. A factory-made surface can offer repeatability when production and installation tolerances are controlled.

The company describes contractor review and testing during selection. The public article is a project account, not a published test certificate. Any similar new project needs its own approval of fire performance, loads, moisture exposure, maintenance and the complete attachment system.

Compare whole-life costs rather than assuming that a material always lasts longer or costs less. The practical value of the Alborz example is the coordinated use of precast facing in a demanding setting, with appearance and installation considered together.
