Selecting concrete finishes by application

Exposed concrete is used for modern façades, interior walls and selected public or landscape surfaces. Structural concrete may also form bridges, stairs, parking structures and water-retaining elements. These examples describe different engineered systems, not one tile suitable for every use.

For a wall finish, review the surface, weight, substrate and fixing. For a floor or stair, also consider loads, abrasion, slip resistance and edge details. Water-retaining structures need a dedicated structural and waterproofing design, while a decorative surround has a different role.

Weather and chemical resistance depend on the mix, curing, protection and exposure. A mineral composition alone does not guarantee resistance to all chemicals or all temperatures. Ask for the selected model's intended applications and supporting data.

Choose the material for the actual location, approve a sample and coordinate installation and maintenance. The visual language of exposed concrete can be shared across a project even when the technical specifications differ between its walls, floors and structural elements.
